As was the case in the 90's, while monetary policy changed and tax reforms were likely to dominate the macroeconomic backdrop for equity markets and common folks, it was believed that technology will continue to be driven by its ability to increase productivity and disrupt the old economy. And as for today, technology is what drives the entire world.

It’s obvious that technology is all science and maths and not everyone will like to grasp what it brings to the world. For that, people with imagination and creativity come forth and bring a new curve to the technology with products and content which amuses mass audience and bridges the world more closely.

Here is a list of companies which are taking a unique approach and making an impact to modernize and expand technology for the betterment of human life.


1. NetFlix

Netflix is an American entertainment company which has its roots in the on-demand streaming video as well as DVD-by-mail services. Founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in 1997 at Scotts Valley, California and currently headquartered at Los Gatos, California, it is one of the biggest cultural influence in the society today with is varied content that is aired throughout 190 countries. It has more than 117 million subscribers as of 2017.


2. SpaceX

SpaceX is an ambitious and innovative private aerospace manufacturing company founded by Elon Musk in 2002. The company has boldly gone in space where no aerospace company has gone before. 18 successful launches were posted, twice as many as Air Force, NASA and U.S. National Reconnaissance Office. SpaceX has delivered 48 satellites into orbit and 22,700 pounds of supplies to International Space Station. SpaceX currently holds more than 60% of the global share of all commercial launch contracts.


3. Spotify

Spotify is a Swedish Company founded by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon in 2006. Spotify streams music, videos and podcasts through licensing agreements with record labels and media company. It is available in all of America, Europe, parts of Asia and Australia. The company is best known for helping to legitimize the “freemium” model (the tiered pricing strategy) where they provide music to the customers free of charge. The company bagged more than $3 billion in annual revenue of 2016, with an increase of 52% since 2015. Spotify has more than 140 million active users. Spotify has imprinted itself as a music streaming leader in the industry.


4. BuzzFeed

BuzzFeed is a New York based Internet Media Company founded by Jonah Peretti in 2006. It is known for its highly shareable news posts, quizzes and its signature “LISTICLES”. BuzzFeed has 11 editions all around the world and has raised $496 million in the capital as of January 2017. The content shared from the hub covers a deep variety of politics, personals, essay on breaking and in-depth global news. With a vast media coverage on Facebook posts, Blogs, Instagram, Twitter, etc. it delivers a hefty 75% traffic. BuzzFeed has established itself as a Mogul in media and entertainment business.


5. Twitch

Twitch is a live-streaming video platform which was a part of Justin.tv, launched in 2007 by Justin Kan and Emmett Shear. The gaming category grew fast and became the most popular content on the site.The company then decided to spin off the gaming content as Twitch.tv (inspired by the term “TWITCH GAMEPLAY). The company was purchased by Amazon in 2014, Twitch has since then attracted more than 35 million unique visitors a month. The company pitched partnerships with major game developers including TellTale Games, Ubisoft and Blizzard and expanded its own content to include the NBA’s developmental G League and music streaming of exclusive live performances.
